Top Finalist at Michelin Design Challenge – Mohammed Fahd, Mantra Academy

Mohammed Fahd of Mantra Academy was shortlisted as top five finalists for the Michelin Design Challenge-2019; a prestigious international design competition. The theme of the competition was ‘Inspiring Mobility’.

Before enrolling at Mantra academy, Fahd was fresh out of an engineering college with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His interest in childhood was to design cars, and he was sketching vehicles while he was studying engineering.

Fahd enrolled into ‘Automotive Design & Research‘ program offered at Mantra academy. At Mantra, he has been working on projects in transportation design. His first project was to design a Dirt Terrain Bike named ‘Mountain Goat’. In six weeks he worked on research, ideation, digital sculpting, renderings and final presentation. The project was a Kickstarter in his pursuit of becoming an automotive designer.

His next project on form generation resulted in an ‘Air Racing Drone’ for Tesla. The explorations were carried for the keywords’ Intelligent’ and ‘Powerful’.

His final project at Mantra Academy was to design an ‘Air Rescue Vehicle’ for the Michelin Design Challenge – 2019. He tried to implement all of his learnings to execute his work from Research, Ideation, Concept Generation and Final Presentation.

We are proud that Fahd competed with the global design community and announced as the top five finalists for the Michelin Design Challenge – 2019. Fahd had spent 8 weeks on the project.

Mohammed Fahd wants to pursue Master’s in Transportation Design from leading design schools in Europe, and meanwhile, he would intern at firms working on mobility solutions.
